At the operator's reception we also offer some items for sale such
as: shirts, films, batteries, scuba diving material and spare parts.
The best period for scuba diving is between October and March.
September and April are considered to be
transition months. The average temperature is 27° C, and the
visibility conditions are 10 m on average at reefs close to the
beach, and 25 m in open waters.
Boats -
We work with a 16 feet boat for baptisms, courses and dives in the
reefs in front of Porto de Galinhas..
For our open sea operations we are utilising a boat that was
especially built for our diving operations. It is 10.40 metres long
and 3.20 metres wide.
The boat accommodates 16 divers (32 bottles), however we are only
operating with 8 to 10 divers (maximum of 12) for more comfort and
safety. We also have the lateral stabilisation system that helps
decrease boat rolling, reducing it by as much as 20%.
The boat also has:
- 2 side exits for the inflow of water.
- a "papagaio" ladder - allowing divers to go round the boat without
having to take the fins off;
- a toilet;
- besides the central bench there are other places to accommodate
passengers;
- a bed for one person in case it is necessary;
- Oxygen kit
- first aid kit;
- VHF Radio
- ecosound;
- a shower - to wash off the salty water after the dive
The boat has been authorised by Pernambuco`s Port
Authority (the Brazilian Navy) to carry 23 people (as a trip boat)
or for 16 divers.
